Katie joined the Bath Vets team in 2017 as a Kennel Assistant, then, later in 2020 she moved across to the Bath Vet Referrals team. In 2022 she started studying at Hartpury University, where she studied to become a veterinary nurse and qualified with a distinction - she really has worked her way up through the ranks.
Over the next year she plans to find an area that she enjoys most to further study and expand her knowledge in. She is interested in canine/feline behavior and learning more about how we can ease patients' nerves when coming into a vet practice, hopefully leading to a more positive and relaxed experience. She also enjoys surgical nursing and inpatient care – it's a joy to see patients going home feeling better and happier after coming in feeling poorly. For now, she is just enjoying being a qualified veterinary nurse and helping with all and any aspects of it that she can.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her cat “Chunks”, who she rescued at barely one day old back in 2019, and has hand raised since. She also enjoys going out on dog walks with her family, friends and their dogs.
