Miah McMillan

Miah joined Bath Vet Group at Chapel Vets in October 2022. Prior to joining us she initially rode out racehorses for Sophie Leech whilst at university and then became a groom for Tristram Owers, a 5* eventer, and Charlotte Doel, a British Showjumper. She studied Equine Performance and Rehabilitation at Hartpury University in Gloucester for 2 years until she suffered a brain injury which sadly meant she couldn't finish her Bachelor's Degree, though she did earn her diploma of Higher Education. In her current role she enjoys the moment once an animal has come round from anaesthesia and they're able to go home - the sudden change in character when they are handed back to their owner is a wonderful feeling because you know they're so happy to be back with them again! She has owned a variety of animals from mice and hamsters to cats and horses, but as of yet hasn't found a single animal she doesn't like. Take the snakes, sugar-gliders, gerbils and budgies to her any day!

Outside of work she is kept busy with her own horse, a four year old Irish Sports Horse named Albie, who she rides outside of work and cares for both before and after work each day. She loves to go rock climbing and is training in agility with one of her dogs - a four year old rescue Sprockerpoo called Lexi. She also has an older dog who is a Cavachon called Maddie that she used to do agility with but she's now retired due to her age, so she comes along sometimes to provide Lexi with some moral support!
